A couple of weeks ago, The National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) asked Breakthrough Visuals to come the PHIG (Public Health Infrastructure Grant) Annual Reverse Site Visit in San Diego. The conference brought hundreds of public health workers from around the country to discuss how they’re using funds provided by the CDC to improve public health in the U.S. In addition to traditional graphic recording, our work involved a great deal of “social listening”, that is, capturing the responses of attendees to prompts provided by the organizers.
Five social listening boards were created and displayed throughout the conference area. They were a huge hit, constantly photographed throughout the day, and sparking numerous discussions. By directly engaging participants, social listening adds excitement and depth to events in a new, and often unexpected, way. Want to explore how graphic recording can make your event better? Let’s talk!
