It was cool, fun, and informative spending October 15 and 16 taking visual notes at the Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative Convening in Center City Philadelphia. Participants from across the country came together to discuss the state of LGBTQ healthcare at a time when their community and the U.S. healthcare system generally are threatened by the policies of the current administration, and the conversations were intense. There was a lot of concern, but also a lot of hopefulness and determination, and I left truly inspired and impressed by what I heard.
One thing that was particularly gratifying for me was the way my visuals were used throughout the two days go enhance the proceedings and reinforce takeaways. The boards were front and center, and some of the images even found their way into slide presentations that recapped the first day. Graphic recording is so much more gratifying when you feel like you’re really contributing to the event, and that was certainly the case here. Thank you to Eidos for an amazing experience!
